Caipirinias
Caipirinias is a lemon-flavored rum drink which is a house specialty
at Citron Rouge. The bartender Rhian mixed lime juice with
lemon-flavored Bacardi, which he claims to be the best kind of rum for the drink.
He was right. The drink tasted like lemonade with a subtle hint of
alcohol. The first sip went down quickly. I felt flushed almost
immediately. It was amazing how affected I was considering I couldn't really
taste the alcohol.
The caipirinias was both like and unlike lemonade. Drinking it
immediately quenched my thirst. And yet I felt hot all over, like I'd just
run a marathon. I asked the bartender if it was a cocktail drink, but
he said that it was a hard drink.
I recommend the Caipirinias to first-time drinkers like myself who
would want their first drinks to be as memorable as mine. Afterward I
was giggling so hard and I couldn't tell if it was from the alcohol or
from the fact that I just had a wonderful first-time drinking experience
courtesy of the Caipirinias. This establishment does not sell Caipirinias to minors.
