Out with Late Sleepers (OWLS) is a live Net coverage that aims to document the activities and concerns of Metro Manila youth on a typical Saturday night. Over a specified six-hour period (26 August 2000H to 27 August 0200H), field coverage teams gathered and processed data from four pre-selected areas in Metro Manila (Quezon City, Ortigas Center, Malate, and Makati) and uploaded this in multimedia format to the website (http://owls.iwarp.com).
The stories featured on this site are objects that are sought out in the said places, activities and events in the establishments, persons who go to these establishments and the bars and malls found in the said pre-selected areas.
The persons concerned on this project, the youth, is defined in a page entitled Youth . Furthermore, the people behind this project would like to clarify that the term "youth" encompasses college students up to young professionals in their mid-20s.
Out with Late Sleepers is a class project of Communication majors of the College of Liberal Arts, De La Salle University. The site was constructed mainly for academic purposes. The class is composed of fifteen students, none of them minors. |
