Malate

  Manila's night life is one of the most exciting happening in Asia. This reflects the Filipino's love for music, parties and celebrations. There are cafes, karaoke/videoke bars, dance clubs, fine dining restaurants, and bars with live entertainment featuring various artists. All these exciting happenings can be seen in one of the emerging popular hang-out of most youth of today...MALATE.

 Malate is considered to be one of the top tourist spots in the metropolis. Day in and day out, one can never run out of places to go. A lot of scenery and historical landmarks can be seen.

 As the sun sets, the streets of Malate come alive with its sights and sounds...multi-colored neon lights, pulsating beats, and high-spirited conversations with outbursts of laughter. It has become a place where the young and the not so young gather every weekend, or even on weekdays, just to mingle and chill out with friends. Since the streets of Adriatico, Nakpil, Orosa and Remedios Circle are all interconnected, one can just walk from one place to another. What people usually do is park their cars on one of those streets, and off they go. One doesn't need to venture too far just to look for another place. This is why Malate has become a favorite gimmick place. It is filled with all kinds of crowds, including many from the literary, social, art, fashion, entertainment and political scenes.

 Malate started the concept of street parties, wherein one can dance and drink as long as he wants all through the night . These parties are usually held on the streets of J. Nakpil and Orosa. The streets are closed off and the people party right there on the street. The streets become the extension of all the bars located on it. Insomnia, Gotham, Episode, Jazz Rhythms, Common Ground, Sala, People's Palace, Pepe and Pilar, Sexes at Ma. Orosa are some of the bars and restaurants that are worth visiting.

 For those who can't live without their coffees, Remedios Circle is the place to be. Cafe Adriatico is located here. It considered to be one of the most popular cafes in Metro Manila.

 Other popular neighboring cafes include The Penguin Cafe, which is just across the Circle. The food is average. The atmosphere is conducive to lively conversation and gossip. There is live entertainment available. Karaoke bars are also located in the area. The Library, an example of such, combines the role of cafe with that of a karaoke bar and restaurant, and is popular with both locals and visitors for its fun atmosphere and tasty snacks.
